Im looking forward to participating in this years, African-American Festival, in Rochester. I will be singing during the Gospel hour, come out and participate in a wonderful event, for the entire family.
Its an incredicible organization, with a great vision and purpose: Rochester A.B.O.V.E is dedicated to making a difference in the community among African-Americans, both young and old.
A.B.O.V.E (Rochester Africans Between Oceans with Visions for Empowerment), a non-profit organization established in 2005 with the purpose of building “unity, pride, and self-esteem among African-Americans living in Rochester and Western New York, by means of cultural education and awareness and to foster a sense of cultural unity among all people of African origin,” per the organization’s website.

A.B.O.V.E creates a variety of events and social gatherings that encourage community involvement and allows the community to celebrate their heritage and culture. Some of the proceeds raised from those events go towards the development of their Educational Empowerment program, including scholarships and collaboration with other non-profit organizations that possess similar objectives.
